Day Five Australia....The Night Before The Olympic Distance Race...

Here are some more images from the race venue and to give you an idea what Gold Coast looks like.  Also a few of us at Festival Village where the finish line will be when we were there to register.

Today is Friday and it has been an eventful day in that we are now at critical mass.  Those of us doing the Olympic Distance race had our team meeting and went to the transition area to rack our bikes.  The team meeting was handled well.  It was quick and to the point and we got all the important information.  It seemed overwhelming but really it has been well organized.  The transition area is huge of course but easily understandable and well organized.  All the athletes have to travel through the transition area the same way to avoid collisions.  It looks as if wet suits will be allowed which has many relieved.  The swim start though is something we have not done before.  They are saying we may have to dive off a platform.  It will be an adventure for sure.

So tomorrow is the big day and we are as ready as we will ever be.  Teresa, Elizabeth and I will be the first ones in our group begin.  Then it will be Mary Ann followed by Susan Clavey and then Margaret.  Results should be posted on line but of course I will post links.  Wish us well!!
