The Racing is Under Way...2

After years of training and a week of waiting the first wave in the ITU Age-Group Triathlon World Championship on the international distance, 1.5km Swim - 40km Bike - 10km Run, is about to jump into the comfy 71 degree water, a temperature just low enough to allow for wetsuits, something the not-so-fast swimmers are very happy about. The official start is at 2:05pm PST.

Over the next 50 minutes 668 women from around the world, in wave after wave, will dive into the water and head out on the super fast flat course. Gabrielle (bib #776), Elizabeth (721) and Teresa (740) started at 2:41pm PST, followed by Mary Ann (828) at 2:50pm PST and Susan (863) and Margaret (872) at 2:53pm PST. Go girls.
